About the Author
Van P. Carey has experience in both industry and education. Prior to his appointment at Berkeley, he was a senior Project Engineer at the Harrison division of General Motors. He began his career in education as an Assistant Professor in the Berkeley Mechanical Engineering department in 1982 before becoming Vice-Chair for instruction in 1992, which he served until 1995. In 1990, Carey received his appointment as full Professor. He has received numerous awards throughout his career and is a member of AAAS, AIAA, ASME (honored as a Fellow in 2000), APS, ASEE, American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers, and SAE.

Light printing in this reprint

I don't know why this new reprint has a very light printing similar to a poor photocopy and sometimes it is hard to distinguish the variable or even worse the negative sign is gone. My teacher and other classmates all have the same issue. However, a previous print of the book (2005?) shows very good quality.

There are very few books written exclusively focussing on Two Phase flow, and this is one of the very good books on that subject. It caters the interest of Mechanical engineers in large and also Chemical engineer

Comprehensive and brilliant.

Simply excellent book. Covers in-depth all the major aspects of boiling and two phase flows. Is so well written that an instructor is not needed. As a graduate student who has actually gone through the entire book, I can say with certainty that it is an investment you will not regret.
